Urban Water Footprint: a new approach for water management in urban areas

Germany, ACHEMA – World Forum and 31st Leading Show for the Process Industries

From 15th to 19th June 2015 – Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Industrial Water Management at the ACHEMA

The ACHEMA trade fair takes place from 15 to 19 June 2015 at the Frankfurt Fair in Germany and is the world forum for chemical engineering and the process industry, an innovations' platform and technology summit, a trend-setting meeting point, the take-off for investment decisions and a international network of experts and executives.

One of the focal topics 2015 is Industrial Water Management, which involves many areas of the process industry and the associated apparatus and plant engineering sector. Nowhere are apparatus and plant engineering so comprehensively presented and represented in process-oriented exhibition groups than at ACHEMA.

For industry, water represents an indispensable component of its ongoing development. No wonder that industrial water management today ranks among the most important growth areas! Efficient industrial water management provides industry with a wide range of economic and strategic advantages:

• For the process industry, it means that water, operating and energy costs can be reduced. Water, energy and valuable products can be recovered for production. For the global operations of the process industry, it can reduce the dependence on fresh water resources and unpredictable local restrictions and enhance production reliability.

• For plant engineering, industrial water technology generates a high value-added potential on the international markets. This can be traced to the increasing complexity of requirements and the need for individual and, in the majority of cases, customised plants.

More information about the ACHEMA trend report "Industry reduces its thirst for water" and all information about the focal topic Industrial Water Management is summarized in a special publication that can be downloaded here.

At the ACHEMA companies will be represented from more than 50 countries worldwide. Some of the solution providers might also be represented in the Urban Water Footprint Database that was established through the URBAN_WFTP project. In this Water Footprint Database around 90 companies are represented from all URBAN_WFTP project regions: Austria, Italy, Germany, Hungary and Poland.
